Process for Commissioning a Fantasy Oil Painting Portrait
Initial Consultation
We begin with a conversation to bring your vision to life. Share your ideas, reference photos, and details about the fantasy elements you’d like included—whether it’s a mythical setting, elaborate costumes, or a specific character concept. Concept Sketch
Once the details are finalized, I create a preliminary sketch to capture the overall composition and feel of the piece. This stage is collaborative, allowing you to review and provide feedback before moving forward.
Approval and Deposit
After you approve the sketch, a 50% deposit is required to secure your commission. This deposit covers materials and ensures your painting is scheduled.
Painting Process
With the approved concept as a guide, I begin working on the oil painting. Using high-quality materials, I layer rich textures and vibrant colors to bring your fantasy portrait to life. You’ll receive periodic updates and photos of the progress to ensure it’s aligning with your expectations.
Final Touches
After completing the painting, I’ll apply any final details, such as highlights, metallic accents, or signature touches, to enhance the depth and beauty of the piece. The painting is then sealed with a protective varnish to ensure its longevity.
Delivery
Once the painting is complete and the remaining balance is paid, you can choose to have your artwork shipped or delivered in person (if local). I offer options for framing or providing the painting as-is, ready for display.
